-C- *EDIT* The 3rd one is a player appearing in the incorrect uniform. I have had this happen to me even without minimizing at all. Example: an ally player appearing in an axis uniform or vise-versa.
That happened to me on the weekend as well. Bizarre.

No idea how to replicate it though.

Still can't quite believe the "day of defeat" development team has been completely dissolved. There's nothing anymore. I suppose you can't do the same thing all your life, and when zombie games become the new "in" thing you have to work on it.

World war 2 was once the in thing. Fading out a bit now. A BIT.

This destruction of the development team feels like watching the last episode of a great tv series like firefly doesn't it?

What a ride though.

Still feel like it needs a last hurahh.

thank god they managed to release a Halloween set of hats for tf2 before that point. I mean, after l4d2 is released, they need to fix the bugs which will keep them busy till christmas break is due, so hey, there might be little time to cater the needs of the hat aficianados...

PS: if the maps are done.. why don't they just hand it to the volunteer mods here to playtest them with a handpicked selection of ppl? Or was that done already?

I thought Valve was the type of company that listened to their community, listened to what the gamers wanted. Well we want and need dods to be fixed. You devs know all the issues, I hope they can find time and fix the issues finally. The dods community is still very big and the competitive scene is still strong. A new league has opened up for dods called XPL http://www.xpleague.com/index.php

BTW some die hard dods players at fragdods.com are working on fixing dods themselves in a new mod called dod competitive mod. Alot of us competitive/league players feel that Valve has turned their back on this game and it will never be fixed. So check out the videos on the new mod. http://www.fragdods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7993

This is good news.

There was much resistance to the original promod because people still had faith in valve... well we all know how that turned out.

This could be what finally fixes DOD:S. I don't think the fanbois will come out of the woodworks defending valve this time.

Really, who was left of them anyway?

I was miscast, several times, as a valve FFS_FAN_BOY_FFS. I was really just against idiots and their idiotic arguments.

EDIT : BTW, hate the word replacement software. Just heart it out like before, it was much less . . . dumb.

It's not just you competitive players that feel like that.

It's a known fact the back of valve long ago turned towards this game.

LOL...

So he took stuff that everybody can download and use (except the recoil and damage tweaks) and called it a "mod"?

Removing MG's? How stupid.

Oh look...I have two handed Colt 1911 animations, I made a mod:
http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/9089/dodflash0008.jpg

....and the Luger isn't in DoD:S, it's called a Walther P38:

EDIT:
Oh and....

However, I could give a what valve thinks, they can't stop me. Every file used are all custom, the models, skins are all custom made by free lance artists.
Wrong....and I've told this before Game, Wile doesn't make models, he's a skinner...a texture artist.

All of his stuff is textures for Valves' models.

Do you know what a VTF is?

The ONLY model that is custom in those videos is the U.S. Smoke Grenade.

Ok guyver, time to get off your high horse.

Its a mod because with it "loaded" into the game it will work with sv_pure 2. Which is a requirement.

So, the skins that he downloaded can only be used if they're made default . . . . with a mod.

And yes, no one is crying with the removal of mg. Remember, you live in a fantasy pub land that may hold the mg on some high perch of excellence, but in the competitive world, it turns dods into a low skill point and click flash game.

I very rarely use the MG....

...It doesn't turn the game into that.

He wants all this stuff in DoD:S to make it look and play better....but he removes an entire class from the game?

Here's what baffles me. If you comp guys are so good? Why can't you kill MG's

Why are you taking the easy road and removing them, rather than learning to kill them?

Game650 praises RnL ....and even they've got MG's

We're removing the class because theres no way to add the carbine class without removing a class - and mg is the first pick to go.

And yes, competitive players generally are good enough to take out an mg when they know they're there, however, its not like they can run out and start taking them down left and right.

Mg's slow the game down.

And when you take a player that knows the map and tactics inside and out - they put the mg up in a very devious position, it can be very difficult to take out - not impossible, but caution is needed.

It slows the game down, and is irritating.

Picture a map that had bushes lining every building and corridor. Bushes that you could prone in without being visible, while seeing out. Any match played on that will slow everything down as you cant run out - you have to check everything.

So, in conclusion, guyver, why this massive "jarating" (damn I hate this forum-replacement software) attack on competitive players? You have always asked "if comp players are so good, why cant they ..."

If you really think that pub players > comp players, pm me and we'll arrange a 6v6 so we can put this to rest.

Why...so we can play lime or orange, because you can't spot MG's? No thanks.

No, I only pub lime, not orange.

6v6 I play comp maps . . . if you want to stick to default, no flash or avalanche.

I'd prefer lennon, harrington, rails.

And yes, you will lose.

Alt-Tab causes weird problems with a lot of games. I've always heard it said that Alt-Tab is not a supported feature, and I've always felt that was sound logic.
