SERIOUS lag issues

I know, "Oh my god, another lag thread!", but i can't seem to find people with similar lag symptoms as mine. So, what happens is, ONLY IN DOD:S MAY I ADD, when I'm playing I get a fairly constant FPS, usually over a hundred. Every 30 seconds to a minute, i get a HORRIBLE lag spike, I'm talking 5-10 frams per second. Sometimes it is wrose than others, but it is always pretty bad. It seems to be progressibvly happening more and more and getting worse, not exactly sure why. I ran anti-virus and anti-malware/spyware, nothing. I have tried re-installing dod:s in the past and that did nothing. I'm confused, no idea why this is happening...I've had this in the past, but it has seemingly just gone away, then it came back... No other game is it like this, CS:S i get 300 constant fps, TF2 i get upper 100's to upper 200's, all settings to high in both games, my settings aren't even all on high in dod:s, what the hell is going on!?

Yeah since the last update of DODS I have experienced a little bit of the same thing. The fps drops down horribly low levels every now and then for a few seconds, then it comes back. Really annoying...

I have pretty much the exact same specs as you tickle, and yeah the same thing happens to me, getting over 100 fps constant then every few mins drops to 10 fps for a few seconds. It doesn't happen to me often though.
Do you have programs running in the background,Firefox, msn etc? I can play fairly normally if dods is the only thing running.

I tried the samething twice with 2 of my steam games everytime i killed someone or got killed i would get like 2 fps all of the sudden.. Sometimes when the game updates from the Valve servers, you can loose synchronisation with their servers.

what worked for me is..

1. Right click on DoD:S then select properties

2. Select Defragment cache files

3. Verify integrity of game cache

And then the laag spikes u get should be gone worked for me hope that helps

You must use ‘net_graph 2’ command to check up your Internet connection. See also http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,12...p/article.html

issue resolved, turns out, for the first time EVER, mcafee was really ing with my games. I checked other games to see if it was happening, and it was(even though i had just been playing other games fine just 2 weeks ago), deleted mcafee, and everything is running fine. replaced it with avg and it works great, no problems anymore! thanks for all the help guys!!
