crash at startup with CFileSystem_Steam:Init() failed: failed to find steam interface

hi, each time i am trying to lunch day of defeat source i got the fallowing error
"CFileSystem_Steam::Init() failed: failed to find steam interface"
how can i fix this ? what this error means ? Ihave a FileSystem_Steam.dll on my repertories, is it related? if yes how ? i bought this game legally and i cant play it, by the way counter strike source and half life2 works fine, what can cause this issue especially with dod:s ?? wrong dll? wrong entries on regedit ?
Need help here , thanks in advance

I recently just installed the program Spyware Doctor and now I get that exact error when I launch DOD:S or Garrys Mod. Once I dissabled the program I dont get the error anymore. So if you have Spyware Doctor that may be the problem.

No i coundn't fix this, i played from another pc

I recently had a steam file removed. All I did was download the steam installer, install it and clicked repair. Perhaps something got corrupted. Steam will over right only the drivers needed for steam itself. Won't overright any game info. But you will need to remember your password.
