Smile Really? Am I the only one?

Am I really the only one enjoying this game? I'm a huge fan of Postal 2, and I understand some of the criticisms of this one, but I think it's pretty entertaining. The patches fixed all the bugs that people complained about in reviews, and the humor is pretty good. I wonder if the people who reviewed this game and complained about it's immature humor actually even liked the second game.

TL;DR - If you liked Postal 2, I bet you'll like Postal 3. Yes, it isn't open world like the 2nd one, but guess what? In a patch, they made a Free Roam mode that you unlock after beating the game. I can dig it :P

No, You arent the only one, I think its really fun but even patched, bugged to death, but its ok for me, Im not an elitist, in fact i played more dead space 2 in 2 weeks than postal 3 in a mounth, but still is nice to slaughter everybody on freeroam once you beat the game (almost 10 times now).

I would play Postal 3 a lot more if they would just release the SDK already but I doubt they will

I agree, while I really like Postal 3, I've spend more time on other games since I bought P3.

I'm there with you! Maybe if we all email RWS or Akella they'll consider finally releasing it?

I doubt it seeing they pretty much already abandoned the game

RWS has been doing their best trying to have Akella release the SDK. Akella is quite the company refusing to release the SDK supposedly unless RWS hands over the rights to the Postal IP. which RWS will never ever do. It's a really unfortunate situation. RWS has been fighting to get the rights to be given control to continue support for the game but Akella isn't allowing. I'd say boycott Akella but there's no other games that they publish that I'd even consider buying.

I also have been enjoying Postal 3. Don't get me wrong it's no where near as good as Postal 2 but it's definitely still entertaining. Buggy as hell though. I really hope RWS gets control of the game. You should join the chats on the RWS forums. Slightly more active then here

Who, RWS? They definitely haven't. Akella has though. I was actually talking to Mike over email the other day, and they all very much so want to make another Postal.

You know, I'm terribly disappointed in Postal III but I hope RWS can get a good team to make another Postal game. I don't want the series to end here and leave such a bad taste in my mouth. To me, Postal III is a terrible game (not even a game really... for me it's playing more like an alpha build). I love the Postal series and was heartbroken at all the errors and issues I had with Postal III. I hope another game comes along to blow this piece of **** out of the water.

I only played the game once ( killing every single person i saw ). IMHO I found this to be to much of a generic shooter than it felt like postal. But I got it for cheap so I am not complaining. But postal 2 is one of my most played single player shooters. Only few games can complete with the hours i sunk in to it.

Things missing, most of which I enjoyed a lot in postal 2:
  • No dogs as pets. In postal 2 i was sometimes walking around with 4 dogs
  • Silencers has little ( if any ) impact. In postal 2, you could use it to get away with killing. But I never felt that i really had the option to be a sneaky little bastard.
  • I found no real reason to hide a gun either.
  • No luring cop into alleys with donuts
  • No bongs for temp health boosts ( with risk of dying later )
  • No dressing up as cop and suppressing the population
  • Maps were very small, lacking option to walk indoors, and no real hidden areas which invited to explore. Postal 2 was full of secrets ( chompy anyone? moneybag above supermarket in closet on mondays? )
  • I felt that often the game was making you use certain weapons instead of letting you pick the approch. And without a real sandbox option ( without mod ) i found the option to just play around with weapons lacking. That why we needed sandbox.
  • Maybe I played postal 3 to quick, but i didn't find Osamas chemical weapon?
  • Kicking just didnt feel good, and wasn't really useful.

Ya get the idea by now.. Postal 2 was just sooo packed with options and stuff to do and areas to find. Could keep going on about little details that the game had worked in.

Postal 3 was OK, a fairly generic shooter with a nice grindhouse style too it. But I would only give it a 6 if they patched the most serious bugs. I really hope RWS managed to get the SDK and some modders could patch it up.

And if they ever make postal 4 ( i really hope postal gets another chance and doesn't follow stalker 2 ), I hope it is made by real postal fans.

I had some fun with it. Definitely wish I'd paid less for it, though.

More people enjoyed it than I thought, which is great, although we are starting to distance ourselves from the game somewhat, referring to it now as 'Russian Postal'.
