I have Sam & Max Season 1 too.
It's not a problem with just these games.
Steam has recently removed a big number of games' images in grid mode.
Mostly they have removed the images of games that are not in the store anymore (I mean games they don't sell anynmore) but Sam& Max Season 1 is an exeption.
Considering how small size these images must be it's kind of scary thinking why Steam must have wanted to remove them.

I had started a similar thread about this problem (wich didn't rise much interest)here:http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=2476551

So... Still nothing with this problem...

What's the problem Valve? We'll have the icons missing forever? I paid for the game with all the content, that includes the grid icons

*Excitement* It looks like the first season has had all but one grid image restored! Hopefully the rest will come soon!
