What is the optimal number of players?

The first thought that came to mind was 24, but I think it can get quite a bit too spammy on certain maps. I'd say 18 or so. What do you think is the best player count?

To avoid spam in TF2, it would need to be 0v0.

8-12 would be optimal on each team depending on the map.

Inb4 herpderp 6v6

It depends a lot on the map and gamemode. I generally don't like arena games that are above 6v6, or CP games under 12vs12.

8v8 is generally the best for gameplay I've found, any higher and it starts getting ridiculous.

I think 10 v 10 is the maximum number you can have for a player count in order to get the best experience possible.

No you see, here's where you're wrong.

You have to factor in that there are going to be at least 3 mediocre spys on each team, so 12v12 is more like 9v9, and 10v10 is more like 7v7.

You forgot like 3-4 Huntsman/Machina snipers.
