SteamCMD - CS:GO-DS

What am I missing?

I have followed the guide here: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/...icated_Servers

But when it tells you to type quit after installing the DS files, I then type the following game start command: srcds -game csgo -console -usercon +game_type 0 +game_mode 0 +mapgroup mg_allclassic +map de_dust

At which point, all I get is the following:

srcds: command not found

and then it returns me back to the login prompt.

What am I missing to start my own CSGO DS ?

I had to use ./srcds_linux.

That guide is really poorly written for a linux server.

Also, did you install the server into a different directory from your steamcmd? That is recommended. This is how I installed mine on CentOS. It might help you troubleshoot.

You star! That is beyond epic! :-) How easy that extra line in the guide would have saved the agro of spending ages trying to figure out, and failing :-)

Yeah, seriously. It's ridiculous how bad that guide is.

Now I finally have the CS:GO DS running. Thank you greatly forrestparkay!

I'm currently running it on a Ubuntu x64 12.04LTS. Which is a virtual machine. I access it mostly via the Windows vSphere Client.

If I wanted to run multiple CSGO servers on it, how would I go about it? As currently when I start a server, I am just left in the CS console. So I cannot run any other.

Also, how would I go about automating the server as a whole, to update CSGO and auto start the 2 servers I would like to run?

I install all the servers in their own directories. Then, you can use something like screen to run the servers. So for example, I have my classic competitive server installed in /go/classic, and I use screen to launch that server. Then I detach the screen, and in my demolition directory, /go/demo, I can launch another screen and run through that.

Here's a page about using screen.
