Playing different characters.
Hi all, couple of questions.
I've started playing single player with the melee guy (his name escapes me) and I'm thinking about trying one of the others. 1) Thing is, will it overwrite my save? 2) Will my character lose his equipment/skills? 3) Also, how does multiplayer work? I know it's co-op but If i start a MP game do I start from scratch again or use an existing character? 4) Will playing MP affect my SP progress? 5) And if I choose a different character to the one I've been using in SP will I lose my save? Thanks in advance. |

1) No it will not, every new game you start will have its own savegame.
2) No, everything is kept, even if you finish the game and want to do a second run with the same character. 3) Chosing multiplayer or singleplayer has nothing to do with your character or your progress. You can switch between multi or single whenever you want at any time in the game. You don't actually start a multiplayer game, you just enable multiplayer and load your savegame. You will start right where you left last time, only that other players can now join you at any time. 4) Yes and no. It depends if you join other players or if they join you. If they join you, your game will not be affected, you will keep all your main- and sidequest you were doing at that time and you will then accomplish them with more ppl. If you join someone else game, the main- and sidequests will be active that this person had activated at that time. It's a little hard to explain, let me give you an example: If you have already finished the sidequest where you have to get gas from the station and bring it to Mike to burn the corpses and you then join someone else who has not yet finished this quest, you will have to do it again. Of course you'll get the XP again. But lets say you join someone else who is playing a side or main quest that you hadn't even accepted in your own savegame: You will be able to make this quest, but it will not be saved in your own progress. So the next time you load your own savegame, this quest you will have to do again when you activate it yourself. When you play with others, the game tells you, if the active quest will be saved with your own savegame or not, that is, it only tells you if this is not the case. It's not as complicated as it sounds. 5) No. Last edited by CalgarianMike: 05-09-2012 at 02:21 AM. |

You might want to keep this in mind..... One of the quirky things Techland did in the one and only major patch, was to "level" characters and for unknown logic you at some point see your char "level" several levels at one time......
Keep your eye out of the addition of several skill levels to appear at once. |
