Flight Training Available!
Some people complained that there was no way to set up a private 1-player server at this time just to experiment and train. While you'll have to wait for that until the dedicated server files become publicly available, we have a solution.
FGS has set up a couple of servers specifically for training - in case you haven't completed the Zero-G combat training course elsewhere. Just look up servers labeled... Flight Training - No Damage On these servers you can happily experiment with the controls and learn the levels without a risk of someone sneaking up on you and ripping your spacesuit open. Not that anyone would do that to you on normal servers. Much. Last edited by FM_Jarnis : 11-05-2009 at 02:57 AM. Reason: typo fix |

Yeah, I got a bit frustrated and discouraged on my first day. This game requires some movement/control practice before playing an actual match more than any other game

I recommend fiddling with your keybindings if you feel like any of them are uncomfortable. For instance, silent running for me is binded to X instead of HOME, and rolling is bound to my SPACEBAR. Up and down movements are binded to shift and ctrl, respectively. See what works for you.

I bind stuff to Home all the time... but that's because I have one of my two mouse thumb buttons bound to Home in SetPoint.

I can see how this kind of play might lead to cosmic cumbayá meetings.

Can't wait! I'll have to wait until my birthday though (getting a new buffed up PC with Windows 7 and DirectX 10!!!). But either way, the game looks great, just sad that it can't run on XP and DirectX 9 (don't ask why I still use this).

Much appreciated! Too many games won't let you do these sorts of things, nice to know we're being taken care of!
