hey my game keeps crashing when i start it.
and says this..

Timestamp program: 4b74239d
Fault Module Name: Empire.exe
Fault Module Version: 1.5.0.0
Timestamp of error module: 4b74239d
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 00cd850a
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3

ah i fixed it myself i uninstalled evrything,
including the files in

Users/Name/AppData/Roaming/The Creative Assembly/Empire/

and reinstalled the game after. Now it works 100%!!

just a note to people who will try this, AppData is a hidden folder so you will have to go into controlpanel and turn on "see hidden folders" to find the folder.

to say this simply to make it work i just deleted the game and deleted the script folder and the whole empire folder in
Users/Name/AppData/Roaming/The Creative Assembly/Empire/ and reinstalled the game after

Hey, saw this, and it COULD prove useful...in some cases

I ran into the exact same problem when I was trying to install the amazing ACW mod for Empire. I've done just about everything and I can't get the damn thing to work. It's a clean install! What gives?

I have this crash error as well, although only midway through battles/randomly on the campaign overview. No fix known yet, and I have a computer that easily surpasses the benchmark for recommended PCs (The game is several years older than my rig).

This was my last hope, but didn't work for me. Since 11/2011 i try from time to time some tips i found. Now i have installed E:TW at 3rd time.

It ever freezes when i have taken "Fort Niagara" in the "way to independence" campaign, after ending my turn. Endless loading and task manager shows "no response". Same when i've done 8-10 turns in the great campaign.

Google brings me to te TW forum and an answer from sega support.

The answer is in german, so i translate some things:

-Sometimes E:TW can make trouble with onboard soundcards (i have realtek onboard)
-The minimum recommendation is a soundcard.

So my very last hope was to buy a soundcard? I think so..

Still no fix then? It keeps doing it, even though I moved all my settings down to medium.

I've just read in the thread above to untick the sound options in the menue, i try that.

And another thing is... i've bought E:TW last year as retail and on the retail box is not any word of what for soundcard is needed...

EDIT: Untick all Options in the soundmenue didn't help, freeze again..

Just an update. I've bought a 7.1 soundcard and the game freezes again

Tomorrow i buy a ATI 7750 (ATI 2000/ 3000/ 4000 have no more driver support..), if the game freezes again, i bring it back to the shop. My nervs are on they're end...
