Howdy,
I just want to know the status of the game. There are not many activ forum posts. Maybe this is a good sign (no bugs) or a bad one (no one plays/likes the game). So are the bugs fixed, is the game good and are there active players? Last edited by MarcBomber: 08-29-2011 at 01:24 PM. Reason: Got the info |

Hey Marcbomber,
There are plenty of places (DETOUR Steam group, Sandswept.net, here) to find people who would be interested in playing DETOUR with you. (There's also a thread on this forum to post your Steam IDs in) I'm proud to say the level of bugs in the game has declined rapidly with the release of DETOUR v1.2, as we saw a sharp decline of bug reports after that. (And since the sale, there should be a bunch more new players checking it out!) It would be safe to assume that the forums aren't as active as the game itself (as is the case with most games) If any DETOUR fans out there want to chime in as well, that would probably help others decide to pick it up as well, since obviously us Sandswept guys are totally biased. ![]() Hope that helps! You got your chance, I got it gifted from a friend.
And here are the results: Now i know why there is no demo. Really it's lagging all the time. And this is what the game is all about. At the beginning rush to the enemy, build two bridges from side to side to block the enemy. When you have less problems with lags and the very tricky control of the build tools - you win. |

I bought the 4-Pack and giftet it to 3 friends.. but i think, only MarcBomber has played it longer than 10 Minutes.. The tutorial was OK, it guided me. But after that i only played a few maches. Sorry, but this game is not that fun, it seemed to be in Trailers. |

I'm sorry you guys feel that way.
I'm highly surprised the double-wide roads strategy works against anyone but AI opponents, considering it's easily counterable. If you're referring to playing against the AI, we know the shortcomings there, but against human opponents, it really doesn't work at all for a number of reasons, chiefly the fact that once a road is destroyed, the other players can build on that given tile in half the time as it allows the previous owner to rebuild there. On top of that, if you're using your full arsenal (turrets, police, the ability to brake all your trucks, and so on) the depth of strategy is immense. MarcBomber, you mention "It's really lagging all the time". Could you elaborate? Our netcode is solid. Is it a graphical lag you're speaking of? It sounds more like you had a laggy experience and it has nothing to do with the actual strategy or concept of the game. |

UI needs serious improvement. I want mouse driven UI. Other things are very nice.
