Alien Shooter Revisited strategy guide, please?

Hi, folks. Anyone could possibly help me? I'm stuck at level 8, it's a hell to me with so many empowered aliens coming from everywhere. I have the feeling I've being doing things wrong with my equipment upgrades and that's why I'm so helpless at this point. Somebody could possibly give me a hand?

Would help to know what you have, but the rule of thumb is to try and only upgrade 1 or 2 (maybe 3 or 4, tops) weapons. I prefer to have at least one of those either be launchers/grenade launchers/whatever it was called or shotguns, but I am crazy.

But the general rule of thumb for any game like this: Backpedal while shooting, and always be aware of where you are in relation to the swarms.

Shoot the enemies when they are far away as possible. Try not to shoot them all at once.

Fill your Top level gun as much as possible. And do not forget to take Armour and recovery health..
