[Spoiler] Brenda St. John / Episode 2

I can't access any dialogue or attack option with Brenda St. John when she takes Katja hostage. I can't even back out of the room, the only option is to move forward and get shot by Brenda.

I tried waiting for several minutes, but the situation never changed, and there is no way to talk to the NPC or any kind of object I can pick up.

Was I supposed to have picked up a ranged weapon before entering the house?

Spoiler:
At the beginning Brenda points their gun at Katjas head. When you move forward at one point she then aims at you. As soon as this happens stop moving foward and go on her with the cursor for Talk options. Choose the right answer and she will go a step back, pointing again on Katja. You then move again and repeat the stuff above.

Btw Spoiler in a thread title is useless if you name it then with story related words. So better remove the 'hostage'.

Thanks very much for your reply. I reloaded that area 15-20 times. As there is never any way to click on Brenda for any dialogue option, it seems this is a bug. All I can do is either move forward or stand in the same place. There is nothing in that room that I can click on.

As I said. Dialogue option is available as soon as Brenda points her gun at you, which she does after you talk some steps forward. But I also needed several tries to understand this pattern.

just keep inching forward one step at a time, the point here is not to talk her out of it but to force her up the stairs, which will in turn trigger something else you should notice about half way through. if she shoots then you're just moving too fast, that's basically all there is to do in this scene.

OK I figured out exactly how to avoid this and trigger the dialogue.

You don't need to inch forward and wait a long time with each step.

You need to keep moving forward, then stop each time she pulls the gun on you. If you wait while she has the gun pointed at you until all the conversation finishes, then the dialogue trigger appears.

You have to repeat this about 4 times.
