Discord setting file location.

For the life of me I cannot find the file that contains settings like the mic volume, options such as noise cancelling, and other clients' volumes. And not a single answer on Google.

Tried looking into AppData and the settings.json file contains none of that, in fact it contains almost nothing. Anybody here knows where to find this to back it up?

Thanks.

This thread belongs elsewhere.

Good thing nobody moderates this forum.

These forums are dead. This one still sees a bit of activity, and voice chat programs are very likely to be used by the people posting here. The technical level is also higher than other Steam forums, for this particular issue at least.

Hope you're not turning into that other PELUXA guy and his "over here, over there" links.

Sure, but there's an entire discord website.

It's kind of ironic that a person so opposed to Windows 10 installs a program that doesn't even allow its install location to be chosen.

To try to find where it stores settings, run the program make a change then use your file explorer on the drive sorted in date changed order and you should be able to find the file.

If not, it's probably in the registry.

Discord data is stored in a SqLite3 database.
Location
\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\discord\Local Storage.

Backup the entire Roaming/discord directory.

Local Storage = generated settings.
It contains user configs, but not app configs.
the settings file is for the generation of the discord window.

Nice, thanks. Very dumb way to store settings but whatever.

It's portable, once it's installed you can run it from anywhere. You're comparing one program versus the program that runs all the others. Still no legitimate reason to switch to 10 but plenty of reasons not to.

http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey 29% of the entirety of Steam users is a large bunch of people.

Discords storage system is actually not dumb when you think about it.
The storage systems understood cross platform, and cross program.
Discord has many plugins available, and this database structure allows connection to many different programs.

Discord can be ran in the browser; having a platform that can be generated easily improves speed and reliability, and deployment becomes a snap.

An output to text would be nice sure, but it isnt a dumb way of storing data.
