Verifying e-mail again?

I just received the usual "is this still your current e-mail address" thingy inside the client.

However this time when I clicked yes, they actually sent an e-mail and I had to re-verify my mail.

Does this mean your mail gets "unverified" if you don't login on your account for several months?

It doesn't unverify the email, it's just asking if you still have access to the email and makes you prove it.

It's a "safety" feature making sure you still have access to your recovery email address in case you somehow lose access to your Steam account.

I think I have gotten slightly more than 10 of those between the two of my accounts over the years.
