Red face is it finally time to uninstall and move on?

From the developer's standpoint, this game is clearly unsupported and dead.
I don't care if the remaining amateurs are wasting precious months on some "backend" stuff that will allow them to fix bugs faster in 2022 when the game clearly never was off worse than after the removal of quickplay (and community pubs) in favor of a matchmaking system that is already dead (6on6) and in dire need of a gigantic overhaul and finetuning (casual).

A patch every 8 weeks, fixing a rare bug that occured when you never played the game on a Game Boy Pocket and pressed all buttons at once while passing gas? Really? Is there nothing big to fix? What are you wasting your time on? That Pyro vs Heavy update that you promised us a year ago? The one that you used as an excuse to skip all the remaining major updates of 2016? Or are you still fine tuning all unlocks and classes based upon the data you collected during the competitive matchmaking beta? Or still busy finishing those maps you added as beta 2 years ago? Maybe working on some new weapon case series? Or even a new crate?

I know i have a "boy who cried wolf" reputation but the last ~12 weeks have just been a constant "whenever i fire up the game, it's worse than last time" experience.

Do you know those times when you just want to open a topic to say thank you to the people for their hard work? Well, this is a topic where i want to say: you for letting this great game die. You are doing a horrible job with whatever you are doing, if i was working like this, i'd be homeless by now.

Okay. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

But on the other hand, please do let it hit you, as a reminder that this forum isn't your blog.

Maybe you could use this blog to thank the valve devs for their great work? Some of you speak of "Jill" in the highest tones? I bet he is cooking up something huge for 2019. Or maybe 2020. Just be patient. It's only been 5 months since Smissmas, who am i to make demands, its a free game, right?

If you don't think that Valve is going to release Half Life 3 any month now, then you can off like the nonbelieving scum that you are.

Now, now. Don't abandon hope, maybe someday Valve will actually hire somebody to work on this game full time instead of claiming anyone can work on whatever as an excuse for having the most notoriously unaccountable and poorly communicating staff known to the industry

I'll stop playing when it's not fun to me anymore or lose interest

If a game isn't fun, stop playing it.

Not a hard concept. I cashed out of the Mannconomy and uninstalled a couple of years ago, and it was fine. Game will still be here if you get the urge to play again. And if you don't.

Maybe try playing a class besides Sniper then or something, iunno.

I'm never going to understand the kind of metric that doomsaying like this runs on. If this state constitutes being "dead" and "unsupported", I wonder where games like Killing Floor 1 are supposed to fall. Deader than dead?

There are plenty of games that would give their firstborns to have something even marginally approaching TF2's situation.

You know this bears repeating. It took me a long time to realize this.

I actually wore out an original PS2 playing San Andreas.

Haven't played it in over a decade, at least.

I wouldn't mind the long gaps between updates and such if there was an actual attempt to maintain even the most basic of communication instead of leaving us in the dark for months on end
