Hey Heyallo, I wrote you in a private message with a (slightly) more detailed question.

Heyallo, this is the last on the "major issues" list. I believe I have to start sending more info on the RFE.log file in the next beta.

I'll be adding back in amBX and a couple of other things to test the performance, so I'll try to add this info as well.

When the next beta comes around, send me the log file when it gets stuck.

Again, sorry about this...

Matt

I am also experiencing this issue. Because I have dual monitors, I'm able to alt-tab and see that the game does indeed continue loading while I alt-tab to something else (windowed mode). Once I click the game to bring it back up, the game freezes again. If you need/want any other information or help, let me know.

ph8 - AH, ok, yes, this is VERY good info. I ~think~ I have an idea of what is happening, but I'll need output from the next beta (as I told Heyallo). I'll try to release the beta tomorrow - when I do, can EVERYONE who has this problem let the game "hang", kill the process and send me the RFE.log file? This would really help... AGAIN, when I release the next beta!

I bought this game today and can't get it to work either. When I open it, it loads a black screen, then freezes my laptop and I have to kill the process via Task Manager. I tried the beta, and the exact same thing happened. I even got a BSOD after one attempt, but I'm not entirely sure that's related.

I'm on Windows 7 64-bit, with a ATI Mobility Radeon 4750 card. All my drivers are 100% up to date and I have tried uninstalling Symphony and reinstalling, as well as verifying the cache, all to no avail. This is the only game I've had an issue with so far.

Also - after installing the game, a new folder in my Users directory called "matt" was also created but not on the system :| It stays there even after uninstalling. I'm hoping this is a bug?

These are the last few lines of my RTE log, which is very short as I wasn't even able to view the copyright screen.

Hopefully they can help you fix this error, as I'd really like to be able to play this game soon!

Hey guys,
This is still a top issue for us. I think it might be two issues, actually. One is the lose of control in the UI (hence having to alt-tab back to the game) and the other might be the fact that we reintroduced "high CPU scanning". So it looks like I'll have to check both out...

Matt

PS - Can you post in the bugs sticky forum for these things next time? Thank you!

Will do. Thanks for taking a look.

I ended up fixing my issue by updating Quicktime. Great game!

Hey guys,
Ok, so an update of Quicktime sorted this issue out. Hmmm, I'll add an experimental piece of code to "time-out" on QuickTime initialization failure. We noticed that if you played with too many QuickTime based-apps (i.e. iTunes, Adobe AffterEffects, etc.) that the game would get "hung-up" in this section.
