Commandos 2 & 3 Can't find Steam?

Obviously i couldnt resist to not buy the Commandos series. I've downloaded the needed fixes for the first ones but for some reasons Commandos 2 & 3 do not start because they "Can't find Steam".
I don't have any problem with the first ones, but the others are not supported by steam or something. Any help? The links for Commandos 2 & 3 are broken though.

I had the exact same problem with the first game. I found a thread also about hitman having this issue, I was able to fix it by just copy and pasting the steam.dll to the game folder.

I'm confused. I'm not sure how this works.

Confused on how to do it? If so then go into your steam folder (whether you installed it under C:\Program Files (x86) or elsewhere) and just look for the Steam.dll file and copy it into your Commandos 2/3 folder. If your confused on why it works then i'm not sure, i guess the game just likes knowing that file is in it's folder. All i know is this fixed the issue with my "Cannot find Steam" error message. Game works perfectly otherwise.

All it did was change it from not being able to find steam to problems checking steam. Why the hell would they sell me this game if it didnt work.

Here is how to fix:

Click properties in steam. Deselect Steam Community for Commandos.

Done.

Turns out the game is riddled with a garbage UI but that is besides the point.
