I am actually suprized I haven't found a thread on this... but in a map I made I ended up making a bathroom... Bathrooms of course have mirrors and I have been experimenting with how to make these mirrors reflect the surounding world with little success... I found a func_reflective_glass which seems to do next to nothing visually... I also found some reflective glass textures but they are hexed in hammer and in-game are black... As far as mirrors I don't think I have ever seen any mirrors in the source engine that reflect good pictures of the world... but I am wondering if I am being mistaken and there is a way to do it...

I came across the reflective glass texture and used it... when I compiled the map I only had the one mirror in the map... I did everything in the video before I came to the forum but it still shows up black... He says in the video that "!!! mirrors can only be made in the orange box engine !!!"... I never bought the orange box... I ended up buying each copy individually... But I feel that is not the issue... But I am almost running out of options here cause the only problem I can see otherwise are the cubemaps... but I think that those shouldn't cause any problems... He says "This entity will cease to render or cause visual artifacts if water and or portals are in a visible visleaf." I am not sure what he means by portals... but I have player spawns and other visible reflections in the same vis-leaf...

There is working mirrors in the mod , No more room in Hell. Thats the only source game I ever seen them.

what game you tryna do mirrors with? i can't verify cs or some else. but hl2 ep1 and ep2 and ofc 2007 client mods do work. maybe you really setup something wrong or bugger with the restrictions.
