My bsp is now rendering black.
I have a map, haven't changed anything recently except some tweaks to props and some change to the spawning, and suddenly all the bsp is rendering black.
Is anyone else experiencing this as well? I'm thinking either Valve borked something, or my map file has somehow gone haywire. |

Well, got it to not render out bsp black.
When I put the log file into Interloper's compile checker, it said that apparently vbsp and vrad weren't being run. But I double-checked the "Normal" Run Map settings and they were. So I compiled in "Expert" mode, and then the problem was fixed. Weird. |

Try deleting your bsp and vmf and then compiling.
Hope that helps! |

Try verifying your game cache.
You need to make sure the VVIS is run *before* VBSP too. |

Deleting my bsp huh? Well, it would take an few months to rebuild it all, so I didn't want to do that. Also, vvis was rendering in the right order.
In the end, I went back and loaded a slightly older, working version of the map - then painstakingly recreated all the more recent work, rendering after each new piece of recent work (to rule out if it was the cause). So I never did figure out why it did that. I'm just assuming the map file got corrupted somehow. |
