Gentlemen of the Row SR2 Super Mod

Gentlemen of the Row SR2 Super Mod v1.9 Final is out and offers 100 new clothing items, plane and boat mechanics for customizing, 5 new vehicle dealerships, new weapon meshes, 100+ new ambient music tracks for purchase, more car paints, tattoos, makeup, and tons of tweaks and bug fixes. It’s the biggest release yet and is chock full of new stuff to see and do!

Some of the main highlights of the Gentlemen of the Row mod include 360 onscreen prompts, tons of new clothing, new crazy weapons, all vehicles for sale at the dealerships including uniques, plane and boat mechanics for customizing, improved darker nighttime and weather, new unlockables, new skin and paint colors, pirates and zombies gang styles, new idle animations, npc character morph cheats, and new zombie uprising at the mall.

50 mods into a mere 4MB. That's pretty darn good. I've beaten Saints Row 2 a couple times already. it's time for something new (or rather A LOT of new stuff).

It's actually ~46Mb when extracted. The reason it's so compressed to 4MB is because all of the modded files that are packed inside of patch.vpp_pc are xml table and lua scripts. Since these types of files are merely plain text, the compression ratio is really high.

Also of note, some of the new uber weapons are only available for purchase after you beat the game, so you may want to load your completed save (and then save in a new slot for use with the mod.) I also added cheat codes for them too if you want to use them right away with a new game (#s are in the readme.) The Orbital Launcher weapon is one that tends to be everyone's favorite since it has crazy ragdoll force and sends people flying.

Any future versions planned? Because I'd like to see some more of the gun models made into seperate guns. Like the Mac-10 models in the store.

Also I'd like the gold deagle model applied to the regular deagles, because its thinner and looks better because of it. I saw this model in regular colors in the store too.

The mod is an ongoing work, so you can definitely expect future versions to come out. As new mods are discovered and released by the other modders on the Volition forums (and myself,) I start adding them in and releasing beta versions to my test group. A new version is released once I get a few of them together that are stable and working.

In fact, I'm gearing up to release v1.6 BETA 1 that has Matt's burned hand, Maero's facial tatoos, and also his burned facial scar (all three mods by Innocent Sam.) There's also some other pretty cool stuff that we're working on like attempting to setup an additional mechanic to customize planes and helicopters, and new fighting styles like a zombie one.

Unfortunately, additional weapons won't be happening anytime soon. We hit a hard limit with what we could add in to the weapons.xtbl before the game freaks out and starts rearranging weapons. For example, it will replace certain key weapons with stuff like a fire extinguisher, and turn your bare hands into a cell phone so you can no longer fight. We've already scoured the code for extraneous weapons that aren't used in game and removed them to make room for some of the new stuff like the gold deagle, dual swords, and septic gun. In fact, that's the reason why the Pirate Hook Hand had to replace the Butterfly Knife in v1.5 instead of just being a new weapon.

I will take a look at the regular deagle mesh though and see if I can switch it over to the Friendly Fire display one and see how it looks.

Also, thanks a lot for the suggestions. If anyone else has anything to add both good and bad, that would be great. I'm very open to any kind of feedback since it helps me to make the mod better. Some of the best stuff in the mod like the Orbital Launcher originally came about from crazy ideas people posted about.

TheShadowCross, thanks for the great suggestions. I found the MAC-10 mesh and was able to integrate it into the mod and will be in the upcoming v1.6. Good eyes and nice find. Here's a few pics:

I also agree that the thinner model looks much better than the current equippable model and would really like to replace it if possible. I haven't found the actual name of the mesh yet, but I'm still looking.

One of the mods I've been working on this weekend with InnocentSam is a completely new Hitman target list including all sorts of crazy targets like mad scientists flying UFOS, monster size robot Jyunichis, a clone army of Dane Vogel, etc. Here's a couple test pics Sam took today of Maerozilla in action:

And a little something that made me laugh today. A few of us modders have been going through the mesh files looking for the thin deagle mesh that TheShadowCross found earlier in this thread. Firespite msg'd me today super excited that she found it as automag.smesh. She also pointed me at a pic of a real automag and compared it to the gun under glass at Friendly Fire:

Just hit the mesh motherload, and it looks like tons of stuff from the console DLC is actually in the PC release. InnocentSam is working on restoring and integrating it now, and also found this gem:

It's from the salesman in the opening movie when you leave the game idle at the start screen. The jacket is also color customizable so you could make it REALLY tacky if you wanted.

v1.6 public release should be out sometime this week. I'm just doing some cleanup of a few bugs and final testing.

In the meantime, have a pic of the now customizable unique race Bezier. I modded out the mechanic restrictions by request so that you can customize it and add nitrous, exhaust, mirrors, paint, etc.:

Noob Question here>

I got Saints Row 2 in the THQ pack, so im still pretty new to it and the modding community. This mod pack seems really awesome and im tempted to download it - but will I have to start the game again? and will my friend have to also get it so we can still play co-op?
