Unhappy Windows 7 Fail??\

So i dont understand, some people are saying there getting no fps problems with windows 7, when in fact im running Windows 7 64-bit and i get total lagg.

Comp Specs
AMD 3.2 quad
8 gigs of ram
SLI gtx 260 superclocked.

I used to get constant 300 now im at 40 fps and its choppy, this only happens in CSS l4d and tf2 are running smooth as glass. there probably a million threads like this but, i feel like im missing something. Running Beta drivers for nivida, still had the same problem with the current stable drivers.

Are you running two monitors with your sli? You could try letting it use just one core in process and see what happens then.

Well im not on 2 monitors atm, ive tried both playing with one GPU and both. Ive come down to its something to do with the theme, cause i have the background change every 10 mins and it seemed when i changed a standard theme it didn't lagg. but i started it up again and it lag's horribly. ny out in game is like 40-70 and spikes and laggs me so much i cant play. so idk whats going on with it

I also one core as in cpu core. You can also try both of these if you like.
-autoconfig at the end of the target line.

Or try forcing a direct-x

Try updating from your Beta graphics drivers, they recently came out of beta for Windows 7. I wouldn't do anything harshe like going back to Vista just yet if i were you.
