Custom mod server?

I'm looking for a server to host a custom mod (for testing). Hosting a dedicated / listen server from this connection isn't good enough for any real testing purposes.

Would I need to buy a dedicated server for this? Or do any game server hosts allow custom mods (IE, allow you to upload the server.dll whenever you want, as well as any mod directory files)?

I've looked and not managed to find anything yet. Also, if it's hosted on a linux server does that mean the mod needs compiling as a .so instead of a .dll?

Most game-server companies don't allow you edit any dll files on the server. You'd want to rent actual server space and install your own game server on it instead.

And yes, if it's linux, you will be using .so files instead.
