Black screen - max payne.

Hi, i bought yesterday Max payne 3. Downlloaded and i was trying to play but then i get error saying that i need Service pack 1, so i change compatibility to Windows 7 as should be, and i run it as administrator. I fix this problem, but then after trying play again i get BLACK Screen, and nothing happens after 5 hours.. only black screen. Can't find any answer for that.

I'm using windows 7, 64bits. Also, directX 11, memory 4gb, procesor AMD Phenom(tm) II P820 triple core processor (3cpu's) - 1.8 ghz

Um, install Service pack 1? Also what is your video card? Check the drivers. Simply downloading DX11 from the web isn't enough.

No, Steam doesn't do refunds except for fraudulent purchases. There is no such thing as getting a refund for a digital download in normal circumstances. Even a retail game cannot be refunded once opened, unless it was shipped with scratched discs or something.

Heheh, good joke... I did not get any CD from them, I bought it from steam. They will have to give me re-fund because it's not working.

Any ideas how to fix it?

I don't see that card giving you good performance if you do get the game running. Maybe the lowest possible settings if you're willing to live with it.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Mob...5.24581.0.html shows a 64 bit memory architecture and no real DX11 support.

Nevertheless, get Service pack 1 like the game asks. Then update ATI Catalyst. Use Driver Sweeper for a clean install just in case. It's often the case that a game doesn't launch because an outdated video driver was installed.

I'm in the same boat. I have a quad core 2.7GHz with 16 gb ram and I get a black screen. No response from Rockstar or Steam. I feel like they just stole $60. I've learned my lesson. I'm never pre ordering a game on here ever again and I'm not going to spend $60 on any game without a working demo.
