Windows games downloading in OS X
I purchased a couple of Windows games and added their keys to steam via my OS X steam client. It then began automatically downloading them despite my inability to find mac versions of them available on Steam.
I checked in /library/application\ support , and it downloaded the windows versions. It's not a huge problem for me to copy those over to my bootcamp partition, but I'm wondering why it did this at all. Previously, adding pc games through my mac client did not trigger a download. Additionally, I do not see a button to cancel the downloads -- only one to pause them. Downloading a mac game can be cancelled from the games list, but since these do not have mac versions, they do not show in my games list. If it matters, the games involved were from the "Be Mine Indie Bundle" which includes "Xotic" and "The Ball" among others. |

I entered a code for Bunch of Heroes on my OS X client and also was able to download it while it's only a Windows-based game.

steam://install/ blocks Windows downloads, but steam://installsubscription/ (or whatever URL activating a new game triggers, it's something like that) does not.

It happens the same to me with the games from Be Mine.
I thought it as a "feature", since I can try to run those games via Wine. I don't know a way to deliberate download on mac the windows version of a game. |

It happens. I was stoked when Skyrim started downloading, but of course, it was short lived.

I accidentally downloaded GTA 4 to my Mac. Sent a ticket to the Steam support team and got a refund.
