Softimage 2013, No Export SMD option

Basically I'm unable to export .smd files, the menu option is not available.

Running 32bit version, in the plugin manager theres an icon next to SMDExport2.dll, ValveSourceShapeTools2.vbs and VMFImport.dll showing that they are invalid.

In the Script editor

Quote:
' ERROR : 2271 - This command does not exist: SMDExport2
' ERROR : 2272 - Cannot add menu item:
' <item: Export SMD...>
' <path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\Softimage 2013\Addons\ValveSource\Application\Plugins\ValveS ourceTools.js>
'
' ERROR : 2271 - This command does not exist: VMFImport
' ERROR : 2272 - Cannot add menu item:
' <item: Import VMF...>
' <path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\Softimage 2013\Addons\ValveSource\Application\Plugins\ValveS ourceTools.js>
'
Been trying to search online for a fix, haven't been able to find anything.

Os is Windows 7 64bit, updates are up to date. I got the .xsiaddon file off of the autodesk site.

Do you mean it only works in mod tool and not Softimage 2013?
I've installed the 7.5 ValveSource add-on (meant for Mod Tool) in Softimage 2013 and can't access the export/import smd commands. Did you get yours to work in 2013? Is there an add-on specifically for the full edition of Softimage (i.e. 2013)?

The ValveSource addon no longer works correctly with 2013. I dunno what they changed but it will work correctly with 2012.

(for others with similar issues) If you have the 64 bit version it will not work regardless as VS was made for 32-bit platforms only and will not work with the 64-bit versions of XSI.

Valve, or whomever made the addon, needs to update it.

Yeah, its a shame. I would definitely use the filmmaker, if there would be an updated valve addon for SI 64 bit. Guess we won't see a new one

I just tried this and it works. All I did was drop the addon in the viewport and a User Root is created. This is your problem, the plugin is in the factory root, not in user root. Also, not that it affects this, simply delete the offending red highlighted ValveSourceShapeTools2.vbs

Running the same OS

64 bits/win 7: Hmmm some tools might work, but there's still no smd export option, might work with 32 bit SI 2013 but not with 64

Hi- I cant find the link now, but I did come across a page in the autodesk knowledgebase that clearly states that the valvesource xsiaddon is not comaptable with SoftImage 64bit. They recommend installing the 32bit version for valve source model exporting. They also stated that you can use your SI 64bit licence with the 32bit install.
