You can teleport with your horse, but bringing it in town is bad since gaurds will attack you once you accidentally damage someone with it.

To teleport with it, pull your horse up next to it, climb off, then climb back on and activate the teleporter before the animation finishes. Yes, you can bring it down to the basement with the orcs.
