Fuel tank switch - Maule

Hi,

I just wanted to save Cold&Dark situations on every airfield and so I discovered first now, that the fuel tank switch isn´t synchronized in the right way with the mouseover sign... Valid is the function, which is shown by the mouse over sign. So "both" on the panel is "off" on the mouseover-sign, See pic below:

You are misinterpreting the fuel switch. The part of the switch that is on BOTH on your screenshot isn't an arrow but simply the handle with which you turn the switch! When you look closely to the end that points to OFF, you will see it's actually a little arrow or 'pointer'. The switch points to OFF on your screenshot so everything is alright!

Well, if Duesselwings is wrong, so apparently is Maule, Inc. Please check the available cockpit pictures of real Maules - the handle is the pointer and "both" means "both", not "off"

Please show me a picture that clearly STATES that the handle IS the pointer...

EDIT
Quote from a Maule pilots forum:

"I know of an Aeronautical engineer the mistook the long portion of the handle to be the pointer. I believe the aircraft was totaled."

Not really. Look here:

So either Maule pilots/owners have a really bad habit of leaving their planes without cutting off fuel or your initial observation was correct

As an aside, rather than saving a "Cold & Dark" at every airport, there's a simpler alternative.

Save one "Cold & Dark" anywhere, but preferably in the Maule.

Load that save, then choose a Job at the airport you want to fly from. As soon as the Job loads, exit the Job and you will be on the parking spot at that airport, still cold & dark.

The reason you use the Maule is that it is the only plane guaranteed to have a job available at every airport, no matter the time of day or night. You can change planes after exiting the Job and still be cold & dark.

You can even use a batch file to automate the "load your save" portion by over-writing your "current situation" with a saved cold & dark situation, then starting Flight.

See these threads at AVSIM for more info:

I actually had the same issue with a shower at a dorm once. Kept turning it to cold thinking the handle was the pointer. The dorm head or whatever had to come show me that the other side was the arrow.

Indeed! Saving a cold and dark flight for every airport might be okay (sort of...) for Hawaii but when we get to Alaska, saving a flight for every airport will become quite problematic!

Using RoboRay's tip (I would advice to follow that second link and use a bat) may seem a bit cumbersome (because you have to load a job to get your plane on another airport everytime) but when you save a flight on every airport you would still have to get a few loading screens to get different weather or time of day. In the end the posted alternative is the best solution. Well, until we get an option to start a flight cold and dark parked on an parking spot on any airport from the map.

And don't forget, when you have loaded a job, you can also simply DO that job! You do not have to exit that job unless you want to.

Ok, well, than I´m becalmed ;-)

I thought, its an indication-bug, but it doesn´t matter to me. Perhaps my Maule get a different switcher at the last service, because the original wasn´t in stock!

Thank you pilots for the informations!
