This game needs a content patch

CSS is a great game but so many people are gone now playing Call of Duty and other FPS games I think a nice content patch would bring alot of them back.

Throw in a few guns a few levels some skins and achivments and we'd be booming.

NO THANKS.

Content? There are thousands of custom maps, www.fpsbanana.com

And I really doubt any css player has gone playing call of duty, that noskill game.

Whats, wrong with achievements? how would they detract from gameplay it's just a extra prize for doing something cool. I think night combat would be cool for css(for all maps) anywho don't want to spam about it so if you like the idea search for my post about my group or my steam profile or search cssnm in steam groups. amount of guns is fine only 4 guns that are pro. maybe more offical maps as they are polished.

The game has enough content, but it just isn't polished well enough. Maps are full of exploits, and only about 4 weapons are worth using.

Ya there are alot of custom maps but lets face it most of them are ZM mod maps and the rest are mostly crap. I mean no one ever even plays Havana and thats a real map. Look at the DoD achivment patch they have? thats just grinding with the weapons but its a nice touch either way.

I doubt CSS will get any substantial update going forward, I would be more looking towards a CSS 2.

Just my view!

Ya but for them to actually make a new game after L4D2 will be atleast a year they can give us a small content patch in less then a year. I mean look how many TF2 patches there were between L4D1-2.

I do not disagree with what you are saying about the development times, but CSS is "old" now in the sense that it was released in 2004. To continue to support the game for that long may prove not to be too cost effective.

Plus, the CSS community is very conservative. Whenever Valve try and bring any extra content to the game they seem to be attacked by a hardcore section of the community.

because most achievements that could be made, every css player that still plays has probably already done it. There's no point

Conservative?

Yeah, with some things, for examples THERE ARE SEVERAL BUGS (like c4 delay of stopping defusing) we cry to valve to fix it, but there is no answer.

If we are conservative, VALVE made us conservative, giving the same game 5 years till today.

For them, i think it will need a lot of time to made a css2, its logical that they should take the option to fix bugs.

But if they made css2, its only because of economic things, why?

Because:

>CSS one of the most popular games in steam (with more people)
>If they made css2, is obiously that the mayority of that people will buy that game
>They will have more "$".
>Final of the history, perhaps some mini-updates in 3 months.

If css2 is announced, thats my perspective of valve, they prefer money than they own people.

No CSS players are pretty damn conservative, this is one of the most elitest fps communities.

Well lets face it dynamic purchasing was a stupid idea unless you loved night goggles and since they never made 1 map that needed goggles well....

And lets face it theres only like 4 weapons worth using.

M4/AK
Awp
Deagle
Knife

These are the staple weapons of the game everything else is just preference to the player.

Idk yet about a CSS 2 because CSS is pretty popular right now but we still don't have everyone over from 1.6 just yet and if another game comes out you'll have players on all three games, making each one individually much less popular than the current CSS. If they don't change much, work on bug fixes and throw in the updated engine, more people would probably turn over seeing as there'd really be no reason not to. And they can work on updates gradually from thereon. So it's possible I think just as long as they're conservative. A new CSS that's even slightly drastic in changing the game itself would imo be a disaster. Even if such changes were great it comes down to the simple fact that a lot of people love the game the way it is and I don't want to be playing something new if no one else is going to make the transition.
