Why Steam STILL doesn't have feature?
The title should be "Why Steam STILL doesn't have this feature?"
By that I mean an option to automatically shut down when all downloads are done. Why not? I just don't want to sit in front of the computer or I'd I out to do something (like sleeping) else when Steam is downloading or updating games so I don't need to shut it down manually after it finished downloading. You know idling it all day long isn't good to the hardware as well as your electricity bill. Last edited by Silverlight: 08-03-2012 at 01:28 AM. Reason: Typo in title |

shutdown -s -t xx
http://www.computerhope.com/shutdown.htm Check how much time Steam says it would need to finish downloading, add a few minutes, use the shutdown command via cmd and go to bed. |

maybe the reason is: you wake up in the morning and notice your computer is still running. You check steam and see download suspended.

If it shutdowns before the download finishes then when you log back into Steam the next day, Steam will download the rest or it will be in a suspended mode. Nothing else happens...and when you're downloading doesn't mean you're installing the game...you install it when you launch it for the first time |
