As of Friday evening both the forums here and on C.O website are telling the same story.

Cryptics servers cant handle the dowload requests! It's a 3.6 gb dowload and it's hanging when it gets between 12% to 21% which either causes you to cancle the download or it crashes your pc eventually..meaning you have to start again..and it took me nearly 3 hours to get to 13% before it hung and crashed my PC (which is when I started checking out what was going on).

It's nothing to do with steam and I dont blame them but Cryptic shouldnt be offering something they cant acctually provide.

There is a work around (which is on the forums here at steam) but apparently thats not currently making any diffrence either.

It's possible that tomorrow the problems will be resolved (as its badly effecting their paying customers as well) but I dont think anything will change because I've seen this happen in numerous MMOs.

Why cant they just torrent it? Life would be so much easier

You know whats really sad? This isn't the first time this happened with Cryptic. I was going to eventually buy the game, but not anymore. Cryptic is a pathetic joke now. So sad.

Aye...I held off buying it at launch because I've been screwed over on other MMO launches. I wa planning on buying it next week as I'd finnished with Warhammer Online and was playing through some Half Life (again) and TF2.

The free trial was a total suprise but since it dosnt work / crashes my PC (tried again after I posted the above and it crashed..again), then I think I'll look for something else to play.

Stroll on CoD MW 2.

I hope you guys are wrong bout that, steams giving it to me for free week end, and my system specs don't even meet game requirements, so why is for free at all?
I'll let recap the test run when it completes downloading.
I see what ya mean, it don't have an actual game with a keycode to make it work, its only an advertisement.
It wouldn't crash my pc though lmao...

well I downloaded it for 100% but the game doesnt work it wont patch you need a cd key it doesnt work (so dont bother downloading)

Im going to try and download it through steam then if that doesn't work I will take the patched files from the steam version and pasted them onto the non-steam version and see if that does.
