Hi avorntur,

I am a developer from Makivision.

Your serial number should be automatically added to the registry.
So let's find out what's going wrong here

1. When the game starts and asks you for the serial, is the screen empty or is there already a red number?

2. Can you check if the following registry entry is present:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Makivision Games\Sacraboar]
"Serial"="..."
Your serial number should be where the dots are.

3. If there is a number, please send it to me via mail:
support (at) makivision (dot) com
DO NOT POST THE SERIAL KEY!

We are very sorry that you have a problem with the game. Contact us to get this solved quickly.

I have the same issue.

In my registry, there is no "Makivision Games" under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE

When I start the game, it asks for a CD key and it is empty

Edit: Running Windows 7 in case that makes a difference

First, thanks for the quick reply.

1. When the game starts, I get a message in white text asking me to enter my serial number, below that is a red cursor (no numbers). The screen has a black background
2. That registry entry does not exist on my system

Also, I am running w7 x64 professional edition (RTM), maybe that's useful information too

Please try starting the game from the Steam Client once ("My games" tab -> right-click Sacraboar -> "Launch game"). That should automatically enter the serial to the registry.

Please let us know if that solved the problem. Thanks!

Didn't help unfortunately (I always start steam games from the Steam client, but explicitly used "launch game" now as you said)

That's bad. We have to find out what's going on. But that shouldn't mean that you have to wait any longer.

Please send us right now an e-mail (support at makivision dot com) where we can send you an answer. Sorry for the inconvienience.

I'm having the same issue -- registry key is missing. I'm running Windows 7.

Edit: Deleted local game content and reinstalled running Steam as administrator with no luck.

Well, the Steam Store is saying the game doesn't unlock for another week -- perhaps that has something to do with it.

That's possible. We are still investigating.

But to make it clear:
If you pre-purchase the game or have already bought it, you can play it NOW!

Every customer gets a copy of the full version of Sacraboar and can start playing right after downloading and installing the game.
If you experience the key problem, send us a mail with your Steam account name and we will solve the issue.

So the game is not "locked", it's on pre-purchase.

Have the same problem and sent you a email trying to work things out. Been trying to fix things myself through the registry but failed so far.

Managed to fix my problem by entering the cd key again and fiddling around with the registry. can finally run the game.
