Getting a new PC, want some higher settings.
The new computer I'm getting will have an AMD Phenom II Quad-Core at 2.8GHz, 2GB of Corsair RAM (Latency - 4), and SLI with 2 9800GTX+'s.
I was wondering, if I put my settings to highest, what other settings are there to put on? In terms of console commands? |

Im not sure what you mean by changing graphics settings in the console. Just use the video options in the menu?
And some basic advice, if your going to splash out on two 9800's, you may aswell get a GTX275/285 if your motherboard permits it. More power, higher clocks, higher on board mem and obviously it would be cooler than plastering two beefy cards in your rig which would just produce loads of unecessary heat. More cards doesnt mean better performance, SLI has always been sketchy in my experience. Never been much of a performance boost to justify the price of two cards. Not telling you what to do here, just advising. Last edited by JustLinkStudios : 11-01-2009 at 03:10 AM. |

Get 4GB RAM if you're running Vista or 7.
Dump the 9800GTX's. Get two HD5750's (less heat, less power, less $$$, more power). |

Graphically and performance wise you will eat any source game alive. |

i would recommened not getting an asus motherboard. i have had both the striker extremes (their top line) and I have had nothing but trouble. asus are also terrible with drivers.
also get windows 7. and one top of the range nvidia card. rather than sli. SLI isn't that good and it is a pain in the ♥♥♥♥ trying to fit two huge cards in your case. especially if you have more than one harddrive. also i would recommened nvidia over ati any day.
