Your most regrettable purchase on Steam?
What games do you regret purchasing on Steam?
For me, it would be... Counter Strike : Condition Zero Reason: At the time, i thought it was a new expanded version of the old 1.6 and a must have in addition to CSS I already owned. Turns out its just better graphics and a single player campaign, and there aren't many servers for CZ, the multilayer side of it has pretty much died ![]() What about you? |

Probably some of the <$5 games I get just because they're cheap, but then never play. Sniper Elite springs to mind.

Game itself its not bad, but there is no players on the eu servers.. i seen max 2 servers with over 6 players since release with decent ping.. Last edited by Per Parker: 11-02-2009 at 02:37 AM. |

Apparently Condition Zero is still live and kicking being the 9th most played game on Steam.
I dont really regret any Steam purchases I have made on Steam to be honest. |

Outrun 2.
The game is good, but the Steam version is broken. It doesn't save your ghosts or your lap times. Totally pathetic. I had to source it from elsewhere. In the end, it turned out to be a lazy port, but at least the retail version manages to save ghosts. ---- Every other game, I'm happy with. Either they're classics, or I picked them up dirt cheap. Company of Heroes, with each patch you have to download the entire game. The latest patch was 26MB, but Steam users had to download between 5-8GB.

Hands down, FEAR 2. It was a very big disappointment for me.

Definitely the worst purchase ever was Quake. Immediately after installing, I joined a server and found myself kicked for "speed hacking". I tried a different server, same result. The game was truly unplayable as I could not use the multiplayer whatsoever.

Street fighter IV, I usually read user reviews and opinions but I thought I would trust the metascore this time, at least it was 50% off.
Could have been FEAR2, good thing I was expecting disappointment so I don't really regret it. |

Maybe you get more servers if you optimise the filter settings. Try this: - Do not filter for: latency, location, anti-cheat, server not full. - Filter for: Has users playing (optional), Is not password protected. Click Refresh all, wait till the "Refreshing server list" at the bottom disappears. Then add the latency filter, but don't hit "Refresh all" again when this filter is active. |
