I think it would be hard to find a barber that would honer that deal.

"Here, see it's my EP3 pre-purchase code" *Barber looks at code then at PC* "Hmm, alright it looks legit" *barber turns on razor*...

Hehe Nomad.

I agree though. How funny would it be if they did a Gordon Freeman version of groucho marx glasses for a TF2 item!

I'm sorry? Absolutely not! They've been doing this for Left 4 Dead 2 pre-orders recently and, quite frankly, it's been an absolute pitiful decision on their behalf. Whatever happened to product ubiquity? You know, having all versions of the game completely identical for everyone, regardless of pre-purchase over steam or from certain select retail providers?

It screams nothing but EA influence. And that unsettles me. Because if such a trend were to gain momentum, there's little more but a slippery slope ahead for the venerable Valve Software. Neither you nor Valve will garner any support from me (nor, do I hope, any other right thinking individual) in regards to this terribly low decision to descend into marketing mediocrity and negativity.

I like the concept of the new items no matter how goofy, even the L4D crossover... but I have stated my distaste for exclusive items that are not attainable through some sort of effort as well by ALL owners of a title, or that become available for only a set amount of time never to be had again.

I actually just emailed Valve about the soldier medal exclusive thing and how they should make it available through effort like the gibus hat.

They should do it for everyone who buys the game.

Not as pre-purchase. If they do that with every game people using retail will not get it and thats just unfair for people supporting local stores.

So if everyone owning the game gets it im fine with it. The other way i start to dislike after thinking about it some more and what that could mean for the future of buying valve products.

All that should come with the game is a great story, beautiful graphics and backgrounds, and excellent gameplay. If a game has this, no swag is needed cause the game will sell itself.

They should pack a crowbar in everygame... On second thought, crime might go up by 100%, I can picture it now, all the nerds breaking EB games windows...

Ideally, it would be so. Unfortunately the world of marketing is hardly ideal.

Wouldn't it be great if we were able to pre order Episode Tree 3 years before release?
