How is this build?
This is a budget build for my friend. Any recommendations? Compatibility issues? Just let me know, thanks!

Can you post it in this format or next time:
Antec VSK-2000 Black ATX Mid Tower Computer Case $37.99 Free Shipping So that we don't have to link to the page to see the part? That is usually how it's done. In any event, I ordered this today w/ a 5850: Quote:

Your good as far as compatibility is concerned. Does your friend have a certain budget for this build?

The builds are very similar in price: $582.94 vs. $556.91. When just considering: Case, CPU, Mobo, PSU, and RAM. Is one better than the other? Or are they essentially the same?

Nice combo steveroger. You pretty much get a highend mobo for the price of a normal one.

His budget is a little over $1200. He's going to get a 5850 when it's available on Newegg along with a monitor.

If you take Steveroger's combo and power supply, along with the rest of your parts, with this monitor, a copy of Windows 7 64 bit OEM and this Sapphire 5850(currently in stock), the total comes up to $1331.83. If this is too high we need to find things to cut down.

1. Thermaltake VJ400G1N2Z: $99.99 2. Seventeam ST-750ZAF: $109.99 Combo Discount: -$30.00 Combo Price: $179.98 $25.00 Mail-In Rebate Card Price After Mail-In Rebate(s): $154.98 Seventeam is a new power supply company and the supply got great reviews. So I just save myself $80 without having to use the rebate on the Antec power supply. Included is the $20 that Newegg gave me towards shipping on the combo. Gotta love newegg. |
