When I see and fight tank(s) I crash about 50% of the time. I also get FPS lag more than I normally do, and I have all of my settings lower than neccesary. Also, I only actually got an error box the first crash. The majority of the time the game just quits as if I quit myself (Crash to Desktop). Last edited by notsograymatter: 12-01-2009 at 07:15 PM. I had two crashes within a three and a half hour timespan of playing it, both seemingly out of nowhere and exited out of the game with no error messages or warnings.

Had a C++ crash but I think its because I lack some ram due to some other processes running in the bg or my HDD being borderline full.

I have yet to play because my game freezes on the first loading screen, the one after the intro video.

I seem to crash every time a special infected appears. No error message, right to desktop. I have tried lowering my video settings and such to no avail. I will get the first few seconds of their music or they will come around the corner on the screen and I am then looking at my desktop.

PROBLEM:
At a seemingly random point during gameplay, the game and my computer crash. This happens in the form of a black screen with looping audio. CTRL-ALT-DEL and other attempts to recover the system do not work. I am forced to shut down the computer by holding the power button for a few seconds. NOTES: * I can play the original L4D fine. * Originally I could play the L4D2 Demo fine, but in its last week (or so) they released an update that caused the Demo to crash in the exact same manner. * Though I cannot determine a specific cause, it always seems to occur when there is a Special Infected on screen. But I also go through hundreds of Special Infected before the crash. * It always seems to occur on the 2nd level of any campaign. SYSTEM SPECS: Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz (2 CPUs) Memory: 2558MB RAM Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 (up-to-date drivers) Audio: Realtek HD Audio output |

While you no longer see gibs or common infected on fire the game should work for the most part...however I did get a shut down to windows with no error with this option on... I at least got to play for the most part. |

Left 4 Dead works fine for me, so does the Left 4 Dead 2 Demo. Now when I play Left 4 Dead 2 itself, the problem begins. It also only seems to occur during Campaign. I played Campaign and every time I would hit the 45 minute to an hour mark my game would just close. No error message, nothing, it would just close and that's it. I then played Scavenge and played for more than two hours with out a single crash.
