Achievements need to be fixed.

I'm sorry, but this is a bit unacceptable.

Steam, you use achievements as part of a marketing tool, making them part of the reason why people buy the game. I know that I enjoy working to get achievements.

Both of the past two nights, my achievements and all of my stats have been reset. Many, many other people have experienced this.

I don't expect any game to be a finished product on launch day (which is sort of a sad commentary on gaming). But now one of the very core elements of gameplay is not functioning.

When people started crowing about L4D2 and how it just isn't possible to release a good game just a year after its predecessor, I defending you guys and pre-ordered the game at the first chance I could.

Don't make me look like a fool. Fix it.

Update: Valve has, at least, confirmed that they are aware of the error via support tickets. But their CSR's are instructing people to check their internet settings, so one cannot hold out much hope that they are paying enough attention to the issue for it to be solved in the near-term.

Update 2: A Valve employee claims that the issue will be resolved at some point today. At of 4:29 PM EST, the issue is not resolved (one of my Steam friends had their achievements reset in the last 10 minutes).

I looked around and didnt see anything about stats, I thought this was something else, and I posted about my stats resetting.

Ive had a nightly stat reset occur, which does remove achievements from the steam page, but upon booting the game they are all where they should be (completion wise) so Id go check that.

Good to hear Im not alone with the stat wipes, though it is unfortunate that its happening to all of us.

Most of my achievements came back today after I got a new one, but I'm still missing Guardin' Gnome, Gong Show, and Stache Whacker.

I don't want to have to rescue that gnome again. :C

I don't really know what those "stats" you talk about are but i lost two achievments that i'm aware of and it's Guardin' Gnome and Knight Rider. I can't possibly imagine to complete Guardin' Gnome again. Please fix it

I've lost all my stats and achievements too. That's a bit annoying, I worked at getting a couple of them too.

And it's a shame there isn't a long-lasting achievement like L4D1's kill 60 trillion zombies.

Stats for your games can be found on your Steam profile page.

It's a shame. I really wanted the stats page to work on release. Now it keeps getting reset.

okay.. You cry and cry for them to release the game yet when they do it and it isn't fully finished then you cry again for it being a little broken. How about you give the game some time and CHILL OUT. Play the game for fun not for sport. That is what game ladders are for.

Uhh, this post was ridiculously off the mark. No one was complaining that the game wasn't coming out quickly enough. People were complaining that the game was coming out too soon, and games that come out too soon tend to be broken upon release.

Did you even read the thread before you posted?
