As far as I know you can't. You also can't switch the automatic update back on for all games if the Steam registry settings are delete, either. There are a lot of thinks Steam should be able to do but isn't ...

No can do. Also turning auto-updates doesn't work, etc. etc.

Let's say it's unlimited. It's just a list so it's nothing demanding on resources. Sometimes it starts longer if you have more games (scanning for updates) but that's all.

Hi,

you mean more games can be make more problems or no problems.

I have lot of problems in steam.

the files in folder steamapps\*.* are all steam games compressed? When I rename the folder over that. Does steam extract the games right again?

The .gcf files in that folder are the games themselves. There may be some compression, but Steam accesses those files directly, delete them and it will have to download the game again from scratch.

The .ncf files in that folder are indexes into the relevant folder in steam/steamapps/common , which is used to store files for games which are not fully integrated with Steam and cannot efficiently access the .gcf type filesystem.

What type of problems are you having, anyway? Theres no real reason to delete anything under Steamapps unless you are trying to save space.

Hi,

my problems are:

1. I can not start some games. Other games worked.

2. Than I have problems that Steam start downloads automatic of games that are 100% finished/ready.

3. I have problems that steam show the game than 100% finished. But when I start it tell that the game can not start now. Than it start for 2 secounds a download and tell me finished. But game do not start again.

I made all that I fixed, but nothing work. Delete all .blob files. Delete HKLM/Softare/Valve/Steam Registry. And more...

Hi,

my problem is I have over 180 games in steam. When I click on every of 180 for cache testing so it is endless. But one time click is a good idea in future.
