Auto shutdown when download is complete
This would be useful for me, is there any chance of this? Does any one else want this option?

Well, maybe not an auto-shutdown, but a restart would be nice.

A feature like this would be great!
In the meantime, I've been using Daxtar's Shutdown Timer and setting it for a few hours or whatever it looks like the download is going to take, and it works flawlessly (used it in Vista and Win 7). |

Suggestions are to be in the suggestions forum.
By the way, shut down the PC after an amount of time (or at a specific time) doesn't require any third party software, all functionalty needed is already embedded into Windows. |

Of course windows doesn't need third party software to shutdown on schedule. Daxter's is just an open source frontend for quickly and easily setting up Windows to shutdown after a specific period of time. I much prefer and thought others may as well.

Anyway this could be a neat idea, but I would have no use for it personally. I never shutdown my comp unless I am going out of town or something. |

I think this would be a good idea. A big game like Dragon Age would be more useful to let download overnight and if it finishes before you wake up to have Steam shut down your computer for you would be very helpful.

I don't want any 3rd party program deciding to shut down my computer.

Just a quick bump to advise that after some testing, a powershell script can shutdown your computer when steam has finished it's downloads.
Check this Video for a demo of the script in action... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypv20qtVi8c |
