I trouble-shooted the hell out of my server files. I did everything I could to come up with the result that works for me. After deleting the server.cfg and realizing the only difference is the the forced map change at the end of the config, at the beginning of the server load.

Can you get a default server to work without getting the popup? Remove the cstrike (or other mod) folder out of the hlds server folder and update the server again to verify and redownload all the default files. You have to do this piece by piece to fix the problem if it's not the same problem that I had.



rx1984, Can you quote my post above and have the other forum members test what I did? If it works for me, it has to work for someone else. I would like to confirm this.

I've been told not to use HLDS because it was broken in December. But I'm finding plenty of references to using it since then.

Can someone advise whether HLDS is fixed and/or OK to use again to update servers offering Red Orchestra or Darkest Hour? If not, how should we update our servers?

I didn't get how he meant it. Can you or any1 else please explain it? I don't know what he means with "exec setmaster.cfg in hlds.exe"

First I added to my shortcut -nomaster, now the error doesn't appear, but as it alrdy says not listed 'coz you disable connection to masterserver.
2nd I ran
"reg add "HKCU\Software\Valve\Steam\ActiveProcess" /v SteamClientDll /t REG_SZ /d "" /f"
in cmd prompt, but not sure if it works from every directory. Just ran it and it said it's done.
3rd Im totally lost what to do now or if I did step 2 correct.

Please some support, thx in advance.
