Crossfirex 5850
Hi!
I've been trying to make my 5850 crossfire work but it just doesn't. :/ The crossfire x option is enable on ATI Catalyst and everything is connected well... Is there any other action I could take to test this? |

You don't need to have Crossfire enabled with a single video card. That is for dual cards.

Yeah, Crossfire is for dual cards. You have one card in a PCI-E and another replica card on another PCI-E then you have a crossfire badge that will connect both cards, making it nearly two times as fast.
Just a reminder, if you connected a 5850 with a 4650, the slowest card will force other cards to scale down until it is at the same speed of the slowest card. Therefore 5850 will slow down to 4650 speeds which is considerably slower so I recommend you get two exact same cards for the best value and performance from crossfire |

Crossfire doesn't downscale and hasn't done since the 4xxx series...
Alsol, is the OP trying to crossfire a 5850 to a 5850, or a 5850 to itself lol? |

You all might have misunderstand OP's message, he might have two 5850's, he does say that the crossfire option is enable and all the connecters are "well".
If he ever comes back, maybe he can explain himself better. |

If that's the case, I'd be glad to be of service....I have 2x HD5870 in CFX mode, no problemo.

I have been looking for a while and all are out of stock. This GPU is the last component I need before I can get my first build running so any info will be very much appreciated! |
