I was having the same problem but found that you had to download the PhysX system software as below:

http://www.nvidia.com/content/Driver...=us&type=Other

Once I installed this, everything worked a treat
Good luck.

It only runs for me if I install the Ageia version of the physx drivers in the steamapps/common/infernal directory, it wont run with the latest Nvidia physx drivers, it says to install the much older ageia drivers. Anyone know what to do?

PhysX SDK fix

Hi all the problem is with the new versions of nvidia physx drivers they are missing physx engine v2.5.2 that the game needs
to fix this all i done was download v2.5.2 from http://willy2k.shackspace.com/Driver...e%20v2.5.2.zip unpack the zip and then

*For Windows 7/Vista copy folder to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Engine

*For Windows XP copy folder to:

C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Engine

all sorted no more physx sdk problems

If you did what I wrote in my topic you would have a working version made by Nvidia.

Just my 2cent.

BTW.

Heres the files from NVidia with md5.

I tried your solution on my Windows 7 machine. It didn't work. Installing a new version of the Physx SDK removed the one needed for Infernal instead of updating it.

Downloaded the zip file and scanned it with Norton, Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebyte's Anti-malware and it checked out so I copied it to the folder and ran infernal. It worked.

I second what Sp4nky and Taxer said.

If you try to install the full version from NVidia on top of you old installation, and then update, you end up with a bad version missing all the content from the full release.

In short you can't install a full version on top of another full version, the second install will simply remove the one you've had installed.

I've did it the way I wrote, and I have no problem playing Infernal, without hacked files from a zip-archive.

No, I did exactly what you wrote first actually without even trying the other method as your method seemed sound and with official files from Nvidia. I know enough to not install things over top of previous installations. I did a full uninstall, a safe boot, a driver sweeper pass and a manual check before doing your method for the first time. It simply did not work after multiple attempts (including trying to do it without removing the old one as a last resort after total removal kept failing) so I tried the other idea.

The other method worked 1st try. Glad you got your method to work but it did not work on my machine so please save the assumptions of what someone else did or what someone else doesn't know.

Again, to anyone else reading this, try the other method, less hassle and the files checkout fine in my experience.

I'll just add my 2 cents. I got the official nvidia files too work. Although I did have 9.10 installed, I removed it, installed 8.09, and then 9.9, all without rebooting, and now Infernal runs for me. Im on Win 7 x64 Ultimate.

OK I have a question, If I install ageia physx drivers (to run the older physx games)
Will it conflict with the nvidia physx drivers?
Like will I be using the old ageia drivers on newer games?

I used to play infernal back when I had ageia physx and loved the game.
My question is:
If I install ageia physx drivers on my pc will my newer games still run with the newest nvidia physx drivers?
Or will downloading the ageia driver to play infernal pretty much just downgrade my physx performance for newer games?

No, it will break physX for newer games entirely.

http://ev3ryth1ng.com/InfernalPhysXFix.zip

Working with Nvidia PhysX 9.10, also includes a readme.

Sorry, but all you guys are noobs :P ROFL!!! go into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\infernal and it's got PhysX_6.10.05_SystemSoftware executable <--- I installed that, ran the game and bam wam thank you man the game worked... How about people look in the folder first before doing anything??

Edit: You can always uninstall the old version and install the new one for your newer games so no fuss people!!
