Arrow |Thread Updated| HL2 Pc Achivements & HDR Released. [Unofficial]

Half-Life 2: Update mod has been realeased.

Half-Life 2 Update Mod 1.0 Features:

↗ Updated to Orange Box Engine.
↗ HDR (High Dynamic Range) Lighting.
↗ Updated Models & Textures.
↗ Includes 32 Steam Achivements. (Achivement List)

> Patch released click here to download.

Fixed some minor bugs.
Fixed some missing facial animations.
Added option to remove the Aurora effect (not my video)if you don't like it.
All maps are fully HDR.
Inside the patch you will find a step by step video tutorial of how to install.

Note: Most of the original hl2 bugs are not present on my update.(missing breen scene on teleporting, strange flashlight shadow, bad view areas, skybox, transparent APC ,disappearing health charger and so on you can fid the full list here)

The 1.0 version still has a few bugs but not so many as the original Hl2.
The fully fixed version will be 2.0 witch is more carefully worked on and better tested.
If you somehow have found a bug that is not on this list please pm me or send me an email at victors2007@yahoo.com
Both mods are developed and tested only by me.
_____________________________________

Valve has released the official update for hl2 and ep1, but the update for hl2 is very ..very badly made.

> Most of the maps does not have HDR lighting.
> AI bugs.
> The Buggy is using the Jallopy settings from ep2.
.. And many many more

Comparison : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-R5Z8Vfv32s
Achievements Demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1o1lepo0uM

To play this mod you must own Half-Life 2 & HL2:Episode Two.

Coming Soon. HL2 Update 2.0

> All bugs fixed reported by the other players(valve old ones as well)

> Reoptimize all maps & readjusted HDR settings

> Added Color correction.

> Added LDR (Low Dynamic Range) for old or integrated video cards that does not support HDR.

If this is the real deal (I'll probably download it today) a million thanks to you, Filip!

EDIT: Watched the video and it definitely looks like everything was there (models, textures, hdr, particles, phong, etc..).

EDIT: Those dl links are slow as for me (2kbs a sec slow). Will you be uploading this to moddb or halflifefiles?

This would take the rest of my life to download at 10k/s, and part 2 won't even start for me. I'd greatly appreciate it if you uploaded it to another server. Or if someone else manages to download it, could you please put up a mirror?

All in all, thanks for the effort. It looks great in the video.

How did you do all the HDR stuff in the maps anyway. Were you able to somehow compile maps from the 360 version or did you just try to add all of it yourself?

I think I'll be waiting for Valve to release it in all its optimized, detail oriented, official glory.

He probably imported the maps himself since anything to do on the PC with the 360 version is not possible. Probably a lot of work too, if this is indeed the real thing.

I love the fact the comparison was side by side. The only thing I saw that I didn't like was the Vort lightening changed to balls of energy. Other than that real purdy!

Please include in the thread title that it's unofficial. I thought they'd finally done it.

Yeah, the title is very misleading. Many people might think it is the official update Gabe promised was coming.

Also, thanks for answering my questions Victor, but perhaps you should answer them here in the thread so that everyone gets to see the answers.

I'm watching the comparison video. Where did all of Alyx's facial expressions go?

That aurora in the last shot... was that in the 360 version?!?

Yeah I noticed Alyx's missing expressions too. Hopefully if it's like that in game he'll do some bug fixes. Other than that though it looks good.

Can anyone that actually has the 360 version do some more detail oriented comparisons and let us know if this stuff is spot on or different?

@ nightcabbage: What questions did he answer you?
Also, did you visit Valve a couple of months ago? I went there this summer.

The hell with the Vortigaunts? Other than that, if it gets put on a different site to download (Moddb for example), I'll bother to get it. Seems good. Liked the aurora. Doesn't fit in the game that much, but looks good :P
