Game wont play
Anyone having issues getting the game to start up? Launching the game just closes the window launcher and the game wont run.
I already have Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86). Im trying to run the game on an Asus G60 with Win 7 so I know it should work |

open your eu3 forlder, click eu3, not eu3game... should have paradox logo
press play(or start, can't remember), then it should give you an error, if it says dx, install direct x 9 from the internet |

Game wont work for me either. Windows 7 64bit. I get a black screen with a spinning hourglass that I manually have to close from task manager.

Anyway, this is how i got around it: Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\europa universalis iii - complete then click 'settings.txt' Look for fullscreen and change yes to no. Once you launch the game, adjust the in game video settings to your desired configuration then restart the game. Exit the game again and change fullscreen back to yes. This worked for me although about 50% of the time, I'd get a black screen when exiting the game from fullscreen mode so i just play it windowed now. I keep forgetting to report the problem. Anyway, when i played the game on XP, it was completely stable. |
