Official dedicated server guide

Here are the instructions on how to run a dedicated server for Zero Gear:

Running the Zero Gear Server

*UDP ports 27015 and 27016 must be forwarded. See http://portforward.com/ for help if you do not know how to forward a port.

*Launch StartFullServer.bat from Steam\steamapps\common\zero gear\Server

*Edit default server settings in serverSettings.txt in the same folder

*Server Commands (enter into the server command window)

LoadMap("MapName") or changelevel "MapName"
Loads a specific map, for example: LoadMap("ChampionCircuit")

NEXTMAP()
Loads the next map in the Maplist

KICK("PlayerName")
Kicks the named player from the server

KICKALL()
Kick all connected players from the server

BOOSTIT()
gives all players full boost

FAQ

Can I run a server without running steam?

Unfortunately we currently only support running the server if steam is also running. We will be working on a way to separate it from steam so it can run stand alone in the future.

Is there a linux version of the server?

Not currently, this is on our list to eventually support as well.

Can I change the ports the server uses?

There is not currently a user-friendly way to change the port the server uses, but it should be easy to add soon!

I can't find serverSettings.txt

L.E. It's there but only after you start a normal server (in-game)

Just want to put +1 to being able to run dedicated server out of steam, I have my own servers I use other then my desktop.

Hi. When I launch StartFullServer.bat I only get a command-line window. A continuosly stream on commands keeps filling the window but I can't start the actual game. Messages are like "User X respawned" or "user Y hit an ice-cube" so I suppose the game HAS actually started with bots... but I just can't join them. Am I doing anything wrong? Thank you for your support on this!
