cant get past 1st screen of demo

Hmm. Ive downloaded the demo but all i get is a crappy screen in a mine entrance and after pushing every button and clicking every where on screen still there is no movement. Im gonna try and re-download it as ive already checked cache files but nothing happens still. I will let everyone know how i get on as I seriously doubt steam will be bothered let alone help.

You get past the splash screen, then get stuck in the 3D menu? Like, the view is inside the cave at all times?

The game starts with a logo then goes to an inside of a cave with dodgy music playing. Ive clicked everywhere, pressed every button but nothing happens. Ive uninstalled and re-downloaded 4 times and have even verified game files but all I get is the same dodgy screen and music. Sounds like Im the only one having this problem so I really dont know what to do. If it persists Im just gonna pirate the dam thing and see how steam reacts to that!!!!!lol

YAY it works!!!!! downloaded the demo via kickasstorrents and it works fine. Thanks for nothing steam. nice to know they care about their customers. ps L4d3 is coming out next month if anyone wants to be ripped off again!

Other demos outside steam i found worked but its a shame the steam one did not. Not a bad puzzle game if you like games like this and well done for creating a nice little game.

We are looking into the problem why some are stuck in the tunnel. Make sure you have the latest .net installed on your computer. However we dont know yet why it doesnt play for some people

We think we have found the reason for this problem. Try installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package.

The problem will be fixed in an upcoming patch but this should fix the problem right now.

I'm having this problem now on the full version, since the patch today... I tried installing the C++ redist and that didn't work, so now I'm not sure what I can do

I'm getting stuck at the same point. I've just purchased the game on Steam and I'm on a Mac (so no Microsoft redistributables for me).
Is there anything else I can try?

We think that this is related to the Mac version being in version 1.4 while the PC version is in 1.4.1. If you have played the PC version before playing the Mac version you'll have a 1.4.1 profile in the cloud while Mac only supports 1.4. Unfortunately the 1.4 version can't handle this and you'll get stuck in the menu.

Could this be the case for you guys?

If it is then the problem will be resolved later this week when we release 1.5 for both PC and Mac.
