Please add better Gamepad Support

I bought this game today, but I was a bit disappointed in the gamepad support.
Not all buttons were bound by default, the menu's are quite awkward to browse around in, and the map markers need to be done by mouse and keyboard.
(automatic map markers for certain things would be sweet, or just more icons to choose from)

And also, please add the ability to hold down a button to keep swimming, instead of having to push it over and over.

Biggest issues for me at the moment is not being able to bind all keys though.
I have a 360 Controller for the PC.

I can't bind the D-Pad.
I can't bind either of the analogue sticks(although they work for moving and aiming).
I can't bind either of the analogue triggers.
I can't bind the keys for switching forms/characters..

Edit: Wow, just noticed the release date for this title.. Well that greatly reduces the chances of this post being noticed, and the issues being fixed..

The problem will get noticed but the chance of someone offering a sollution is getting slim
I have the same problem btw... Before I bought the Steam version, I played the illegally
downloaded version which worked perfectly with the my xbox contoller, no configuration needed...

I use an Xbox controller and it works great. Maybe try the official forums. They're really helpful there.

You play the Steam or the retail version? And do you use the wireless controller as well? With the (cracked)retail version which I played for a bit I didn't have any problems with my Xbox360 controller, but this with the Steam version I can't manage the get the controller configured either.

I'll try the official forum then.

@Vriess: Have you enabled controller support? I play the retail version (so that Steam isn't taking up all my RAM), and you just need to start AQConfig (or manually edit the config xml) to enable controller support.

(Darn... the original Xbox's controller doesn't have bumpers, but black and white buttons. That's going to annoy me.)

I found the gamepad support to be quite functional, except in the case of switching forms easily. In the end, I just pushed the keyboard hotkey to quickly switch when it was needed. Otherwise, I would just sing into the needed form, if speed wasn't crucial.

This thread in the official forums includes a link to a patch you can apply to your Steam version that improves game pad support:
