Question Computer Crashes when playing Steam Games

Whenever I play a Steam Game for about 10 minutes my computer goes to a black screen (sometimes making a noise too) and freezes. It forces me to hard-boot my computer. When I play Audio Surf my computer does not crash, nor if I play any other game not launched by Steam. I think it might have to do with it running with a Steam source. I don't know very much about computers but this has been happening for about 2 weeks. I recently bought Mass Effect and am not able to play it because of this problem.

My computer specs are:
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Quad CPU Q4800 @2.66GHz (4 CPUS) ~2.7GHz
Memory: 8GB RAM
DirectX: DirectX 11
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 220

If anyone knows what may be the problem, please help me, I can't play any of my games except for Audio Surf.

This is the last time I'll bump this thread, then I'll try again in a few days. Sorry for bumping.

I have the same exact computer which is the acer AM5802-E9132 right? I just started getting this problem yesterday. Before that, I was able to play steam games just fine. Have you found a solution, or has it gone away?
