The fix is coming in two parts. The first part was to post code this morning during the downtime that enabled the reset of stuck relationships, and also helped with the timespan of the ignoring relationship. The ignoring duration isn't a substantial issue, but I think it was affecting a few users. The code to free stuck relationships enables the second half of the work.

The second half of the work is to traverse the database looking for users who have invalid relationships and reset them. I'm running code that will do this for everyone, and work as it goes. I can post later about how long it will take after measuring its progress for a while, and perhaps tuning its performance a bit.

Point is, you'll start to see the relationships automatically repaired over time going forward.

Looks like the issue affects less than 2% of customers.

Anyone lose their friends on their friends list? Or is it just me?
Everything was there last night when I logged off (5am EST)
Now when I log in.. no friends are listed.. but all my groups remained? I dont' remember everyone's steamid names to readd them.. this is going to be a pain.

Yes multiple times and reboot the computer. Steam community shows I don't have anyone there either.

hmm that's odd. You sure you're on the right account? Or try to log out of your account, and re login.

Tried that too.
What doesn't make sense is that ALL my groups are still listed yet none of my friends are there.

I don't know if this would help but if you have another computer in the area try to log into that one. I've never heard of someone losing their friends and not the groups.

Also, does anyone else have access to your account and maybe deleted them on accident? Check to make sure on your friends list you don't have "show online friends only" for a short second to see if they're not all offline.

No one has access. I tried to log in from the steamcommunity website and nothing from there. No one is showing up at all. it's completely empty. =/

I wonder if people can see me online though... hm.

I suspect its unexpected downtime and will likely be fixed when community is functional: Same here.
